Filekpaideftiki Etaireia holds undoubtedly a profound position in Modern Greek education because since its foundation in 1836 has constantly been in the forefront of all educational developments. Its educational, widely social and mostly important a one hundred and seventy-year-old lively and creative presence in Education, appear in its archives which are not only priceless for their historical value but also extraordinary in volume.

The creation of the Archives was decided in 1989 by the Board of Directors. The bulk of the existing material was transferred to a special building in the premises of Psychiko which decidedly contributed to both its register and classification and was at the researchers’ disposal. The rest of the material is found in the offices of Filekpaideftiki Etaireia and in the church of Agia Anastasia in Psychiko. Upon registering the Archives not only was the quantity revealed but also the diversity and the value of all the texts and heirlooms which record the course, development and activity of Filekpaideftiki Etaireia, as well as the School’s offer which has been identified with the Education of Women –and not only – in Greece. With the Filekpaideftiki Etaireia Archives there has been captured a great part of Education in modern Greece. In particular, they include:
