More specifically the Educational Programs Service:

• Gathers information on current cultural and scientific events and suggests educational visits, according to the cognitive level of every school grade. A publication entitled “Preparing Educational Outings” is annually issued to serve this purpose. Additional information arising during the school-year is forwarded via electronic mail or is posted on the website.

• Collaborates with significant and frequently visited archaeological sites and museums in Athens to arrange appointments on suitable dates, for each one of the 220 classes of Arsakeia-Tositseia Schools.

• Creates and conducts educational programs at archaeological sites and museums.

• Publishes educational leaflets and electronic (power point) presentations for:

a) museums and archaeological sites and

b) the development of art in different historical periods.

The former are used to prepare students before their actual visit to the site and the latter to demonstrate how people expressed themselves through art in each era and thus improve student’s understanding of historical reality.

• Participates in working parties producing educational material for e-arsakeio, the Arsakeia - Tositseia Digital School platform.

• Collaborates with teachers for the implementation of interdisciplinary projects and multi-day excursions focused on environmental and cultural assignments: puts forward proposals, invites specialists to interact with the students, establishes contact with other schools and institutions in Greece and abroad etc.

•
Operates as a liaison between the cultural centre of F.E., known as Book Arcade (Stoatoubibliou) and the Arsakeia-Tositseia Schools.

• Keeps a small but specialized lending library, which includes all educational programs published by the Ministry of Culture, as well as significant conventional and electronic publications on art and culture, donated by prominent institutions and museums.
